Cavern Crawler. The Glyphid web spitter can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check. Additionally, moving through difficult terrain doesn’t cost it extra movement.
Cowardly. The Glyphid web spitter can take the Disengage action as a bonus action.
Web Spit. Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, range 40/120 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (2d6) poison damage and the target is restrained until the start of the Glyphid web spitter’s next turn.
Glyphid web spitters have simple tactics: get out of melee range, attack a target with its web spit. Remember that Glyphids can climb on the ceiling with ease and web spitters will use this to help stay out of range.
“Ugh, this better be web and not… uh, help me kill this thing.” – A greenbeard learning that not all Glyphids like to fight up close.
Glyphid web spitters are more slender and jagged looking than most Glyphids. Their chitin is purple coloured and covers less of their body to keep them mobile and more able to hang to ceilings. Their mouths are the most unique aspect though – being much more developed for spitting projectiles than for biting.
This creature is based on reference material found in the game Deep Rock Galactic. It’s a good game, go check it out.
